We are delighted to announce our inaugural adviser-focused investment conference, taking place at the iconic BAFTA headquarters in London on Wednesday 11 November 2026.
The Jupiter Investment Solutions Forum will be powered by the Jupiter Merlin Team and will feature expert fund managers from Jupiter, alongside externally selected managers held within the Merlin portfolios. Together, they will share insights and perspectives on today’s investment landscape and the opportunities ahead.
The programme will include sessions from Matthew Beesley, Chief Executive Officer, and Piers Hillier, Chief Investment Officer, as well as a keynote address from a distinguished guest speaker.

William spent 20 years at BlackRock and its predecessors Mercury & Merrill Lynch, covering the technology sector. Portfolio manager since 2000, from 2008 to 2017 he was the sole portfolio manager for BlackRock’s offshore global technology fund, achieving top decile performance. Prior to BlackRock, William served in the British Army. He had already started his career in finance by previously qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand. This is key to his success as a tech investor: his deep understanding of accounting and the financial measures of value creation enable him to focus on finding business models that create long-term investor value from technology and innovation.
Terry Smith Chief Executive & Chief Investment Officer, Fundsmith
Terry graduated in History from University College Cardiff in 1974. He worked for Barclays Bank from 1974- 83 and became an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in 1976. He obtained an MBA at The Management College, Henley in 1979. He became a stockbroker with W Greenwell & Co in 1984 and later joined Barclays de Zoete Wedd, holding the position of the top-rated bank analyst in London from 1984-89. In 1990 he became head of UK Company Research at UBS Phillips & Drew, a position from which he was dismissed in 1992 following the publication of his best selling book Accounting for Growth. He joined Collins Stewart shortly after, and became a director in 1996. In 2000 he became Chief Executive and led the management buy-out of Collins Stewart, which was floated on the London Stock Exchange five months later. In 2003 Collins Stewart acquired Tullett Liberty and followed this in 2004 with the acquisition of Prebon Group, creating the world’s second largest inter-dealer broker. Collins Stewart and Tullett Prebon were demerged in 2006 with Terry remaining CEO of Tullett Prebon until September 2014. In 2010 he founded Fundsmith where he is CEO and CIO. In 2012 he was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to New Zealand-UK relations following the success of his campaign to commemorate the New Zealander, Air Marshal Sir Keith Park.
James McDermottroe, Fund Manager, Invesco
James is a fund manager within the Henley-based Asian & Emerging Market Equities team, with a focus on managing the emerging markets ex-China strategy as well as a thematic portfolio (Metaverse and AI). James joined Invesco in August 2013 as an intern, gaining experience with our Henley-based Emerging Market Equities and US Equities teams before becoming a permanent member of the Emerging Market Equities team in December 2013. James holds an MSc in Finance and Banking and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Bath and is a CFA charterholder.
Anne-Christine Farstad, Portfolio Manager, MFS Investment Management
Anne-Christine (AC) Farstad is an Investment Officer and Equity Portfolio Manager at MFS Investment Management®, where she leads contrarian strategies within global equities. Known for her disciplined, contrarian approach, AC specialises in identifying out-of-favour companies with strong fundamentals and long-term recovery potential, having developed the MFS Contrarian Value framework to capitalise on market mispricings with a strong focus on downside risk.
Based in London, AC is responsible for final buy and sell decisions, portfolio construction, and risk and cash management. She collaborates closely with MFS’s Global Investment Platform, conducting rigorous fundamental analysis, engaging in strategy discussions, and driving high-conviction allocation decisions aligned with a long-term perspective.
AC’s investment philosophy is rooted in independent thinking and a willingness to diverge from consensus. She emphasises patience, disciplined decision-making, and risk-aware execution, prioritising quality, durability, and valuation in overlooked segments of the market.
Prior to joining MFS in 2005 as an equity research analyst, AC worked at Bailey Coates Asset Management, covering European and US companies, and spent a year in Global Equity Hedge Fund Sales at UBS in London. She began her career in financial services in 2002 and holds a Master of Arts in Literature from the University of Cambridge.
